Change your email or password
How to reset a forgotten or old password, why a Google account has no BillingMart password, and what to do today to change the email you sign in with.
To change a password, use Reset password on the sign-in page. We email a link and you choose a new one. Inside the console there is no screen to change the password or the email address you sign in with. This page says what works today, and what to do for the email.
Reset or change your password
- Open the sign-in page. If you are signed in, select Sign out on Your account first.
- Type your email address. Reset password stays off until you do.
- Select Reset password. The page says: "If that address has an account, a reset link is on its way."
- Open the email, follow the link and choose a new password.
- Sign in with the new password. If you have a second sign-in step, you are asked for a code too.
If nothing arrives, check your spam folder and that you typed the address you signed up with.
On the iPhone, the email sign-in screen has Forgot password?, which sends the same link. On Android, use the sign-in page on the website.
To end every other session after you change a password, see Sign-in sessions and devices.
If you sign in with Google or Apple
An account that signs in with Google or Apple has no BillingMart password. Change the password with Google or Apple. In the web Confirm it's you window, a Google account sees Continue with Google instead of a password box.
Your email address
Your account shows the email you sign in with, with a Verified or Unverified badge. The address cannot be edited there. There is no form to change it today. To move to a different address, write to support@billingmart.com. Give the address you use now, the one you want, and your workspace name, and we will tell you what can be done.
An invitation works only for the address it was sent to. See Invite your team and set roles.
Verify your email
An unverified address shows Send verification email and I have verified it. Select the first, open the link in your inbox, then select the second. Verifying is needed to accept invitations and to add a second sign-in step. When BillingMart requires it before a change, a banner says "Verify your email to continue" and offers to send the link again.
A new password account is sent the link at sign-up. Google returns an address that is already verified.
The address customers see
Your sign-in email is not the address on your invoices. An owner or admin sets the From name and Reply-to address in Settings, then Messaging. Customers see your From name followed by "via BillingMart", and replies go to your Reply-to address.
Keep your account safe
