Create your workspace
Sign up with email or Google, name your business, and BillingMart sets up your workspace, a test merchant account and a short checklist.
You create an account with your email and a password, or with Google. Then four short screens ask for your business name, add a test merchant account, let you add a logo and teammates (both optional), and finish. Your workspace exists as soon as you finish the first screen. Nothing else is needed to start.
Create your account
- Open the BillingMart sign-up page at app.billingmart.com/sign-up.
- Enter your email, a password, and the password again. Or choose Continue with Google.
- If you see a line about our Terms and Privacy Policy above the buttons, read it. Choosing a button means you agree to it.
- Open the verification email we send you and use the link in it.
If you sign up from an invitation link, you join the workspace that invited you. You do not create a new one.
Note: Creating the workspace does not wait for you to verify your email. Do it soon anyway. The console shows Verify your email until you do, and the sample invoice in Send your first invoice needs a verified address.
The four screens
Each screen shows which step you are on. The first three also say about how many minutes are left.
- What is your business called? Enter your business name (up to 120 characters). Pick the kind of work you do, or skip it and start with a general setup. We guess your time zone, currency and invoice language from your browser. Choose Change to edit them. If a box for our Terms and Privacy Policy appears, tick it. Then choose Create my workspace. Setting up a business type may ask you to confirm it is you by signing in again.
- Add your test merchant account. Every new workspace gets BillingMart's test merchant account, so you can try card payments with no real money. The screen shows that it is ready. Choose Continue. If adding it fails, choose I will do this later. You can finish it from Pending tasks.
- Make it yours. Add a logo (PNG, JPEG or WebP, 2 MB or less) and invite up to three teammates as Admin, Staff or Viewer. Both are optional. The button reads Skip for now until you add something.
- You are all set. The screen lists what is done and what is next. It offers Connect your AI agent, Send yourself a first invoice and Go to dashboard. If your email is verified, we also email you the list.
If you close the tab, come back later. The screens pick up where you stopped. The list of open tasks stays under Pending tasks in the left menu.
What your new workspace has
- One business, named after what you typed. See Set up your business details.
- A trial, when one is running. See Your trial and the free plan.
- The test merchant account. Your customers can pay by card for real only after your own merchant account is approved. You apply for that later from Pending tasks.
One account has one live workspace of its own. If you try to create a second, you get your first one back.
Practise in a test workspace
An owner can add a separate sandbox next to the live workspace. Use Open test workspace on Pending tasks, or Create sandbox by the Test mode switch in the left menu. Card payments there always run in test mode. A sandbox emails or texts only the verified addresses of its own team, so you cannot message a real customer by mistake. Your live workspace is not touched.
On your phone
The iPhone and Android apps can start the same screens. Sign in, and on Nothing is linked to this account yet choose Create a new workspace. Nothing is sold in the apps during setup. See Sign in on your phone.
