Sign in on your phone
The ways to sign in on the iPhone and Android apps, what happens when you have a second sign-in step, and how to stay signed in.
You sign in on your phone with the same account you use on the website. The iPhone app offers Apple, Google, a text-message code, or email and password. The Android app offers Apple or email and password. If your account has a second sign-in step, the app asks for a six-digit code after you choose how to sign in.
Ways to sign in
| Way | iPhone | Android |
|---|---|---|
| Continue with Apple | Yes | Yes |
| Continue with Google | Yes | No |
| Continue with phone (a code by text) | Yes | No |
| Continue with email | Yes | Yes |
If you made your account with Apple, including Hide My Email, use Apple on both phones.
Sign in with email
- Tap Continue with email.
- Type your email and password, then tap Sign in.
To make a new account, type an email and a password and tap Create account. We send a verification link to your email. Open it, then come back and tap I've verified my email (on Android, I verified my email — check again).
If you forgot your password, the iPhone app has a Forgot password? button that sends a reset link. On Android, use the sign-in page on the website to reset it.
If you have a second sign-in step
After you choose a way to sign in, the app shows Two-step verification.
- If you have more than one second step, choose one. For example, an authenticator app or a text to your phone.
- If the app shows Send code, tap it so we text you.
- Type the six-digit code.
- Tap Verify (Verify and sign in on Android).
You can cancel at any point.
Some actions ask again, even when you are signed in. Voiding an invoice and approving a payment are examples. The app shows Confirm it's you. You sign in again and type a code. If your workspace requires a second step and you have none yet, the app offers to add one there and then. To set one up ahead of time, see Turn on two-step verification.
Stay signed in on this phone
If your phone has a fingerprint, face or Face ID set up, the sign-in screen shows Remember this device for 30 days.
- Turn it on before you sign in. The app then locks, and you unlock it with your fingerprint, face or Face ID.
- If it does not match, you have a few tries. Then you sign in again.
- After 30 days, or if the faces or fingerprints on the phone change, you sign in again.
Leave it off and you stay signed in as before, with no lock. You can forget a remembered phone later under Account, in Remembered devices. See Sign-in sessions and devices.
Paying a bill, not running a business
On the iPhone, Find my bills is for customers. You can get a text code or an email sign-in link, and there is no password.
If you cannot get in
See I cannot sign in.
