What always needs a person

The requests no Agent or assistant can run by itself, the extra kinds the built-in Agent can run in Auto, and what still sends a request to you.

Last updated WebiPhoneAndroid

Some requests can never run without a person approving them in the secure window. No mode and no rule the owner writes changes that. Other requests can run by themselves in Auto, but only if the workspace owner switched that kind on, and only within the owner's limits. This page lists both.

What always needs a person

These always wait for you, for every assistant and for the built-in Agent, even in Auto.

What Why it waits
Card or bank entry Approving opens a secure form, and the details are typed there. The Agent never sees a card number, a security code or a bank account number. Bank entry is not available today.
Files and contacts you add A document for a bill, a receipt, a business logo, a client contact, or a vendor's email or phone is added by you in the approval window.
Every account and security change The payment gateway and live payments, API keys, webhooks, connected apps, team invitations and roles, adding or changing a business, branding, workspace, security, email and text settings, the reminder schedule, creating a test workspace, deleting the workspace, and marking a client contact verified.
Plan changes and AI credit purchases Only the owner can decide these.
Gateway payment records Resolving an unconfirmed payment, recording or resolving a card dispute, and marking a payment returned.
Emailing a payment link A person approves it every time.
Publishing something the Agent wrote A template or pay page theme the Agent wrote last stays a draft until a person publishes it.
The rules themselves The Auto-approve rules, the roles allowed to use Auto, and the Agent's mode are set only by people. The owner sets the rules with a recent sign-in and a second factor.

Money and account changes also ask for your second factor when you approve them, whatever the mode. See Approve or reject what the Agent proposes.

What a connected assistant can run in Auto

A connected assistant can run only a short list by itself, and only when the owner put that connection in Auto and turned each kind on. The list covers sending invoices, estimates and standard reminders, capturing a payment, renewing an expired payment link, and deleting its own unbilled time, expense or mileage records. Everything else waits for a person, and so does a reminder with text the assistant wrote.

What the built-in Agent can also run in Auto

The built-in Agent works for one signed-in person. See The Agent: Ask, Plan, Audit and Auto. On top of that list, the owner can allow it to run these kinds by itself:

  • Money records and charges. Recording or receiving a payment, recording a bill payment, charging a saved card, refunds, credit notes, write-offs, and voiding a payment, a bill or a bill payment.
  • Invoice and bill changes. Voiding or reopening an invoice, opening a bill, and billing unbilled work.
  • Schedules, clients and links. Creating, changing or resuming a recurring schedule, switching autopay off, merging two clients, revoking a payment link, and asking a client to confirm a contact.
  • Messages and drafts. Sending a receipt, invoice or estimate again, emailing a client statement, emails, texts and reminders with wording the Agent wrote, deleting a draft template or theme, and publishing a draft a person wrote last.

What still sends a request to you in Auto

Even for a kind the owner turned on, a request waits for approval when any of these is true. It appears as a normal request.

  • The rule for that kind is off, or the amount is over the maximum for one action or for the day, or the daily count is used up.
  • A money request has no amount that BillingMart could work out itself, or the rule has no maximum for that currency.
  • A message would go to a client with no verified contact.
  • The record was last written by a different assistant or connection in the recent past.
  • Text the Agent wrote contains a link, an email address or a long number.
  • A recurring schedule would issue the invoices it missed.
  • Another request for the same record is already waiting.
  • A kill switch is on, or the plan no longer includes Auto.
  • The Agent has been held in Plan after repeated rejections.
